Why the Samsung’s Flex Duo™ Slide-In Gas Range with Dual Door and WiFi Connectivity came just in time…….
This year has been the year of EVERYTHING breaking or becoming too worn down to ignore. Our house was rehabbed by people hired by the bank that owned it and I can only assume they had never picked up a paint brush never mind had any sort of electrical degree. The house is slowly breaking down and the kitchen has become the one room we could no longer ignore. I grew really tired having a stove that only cooked one side of any item of food you put in there and a back splash that was painted with cement paint. So when we were asked to try the new Flex Duo™ Slide-In Gas Range with Dual Door and WiFi Connectivity, we literally jumped at the chance. My husband and I are major foodies so having a oven/stove that only half worked was down right embarrassing. We also decided since we had a shiny new stove that we would finally redo the kitchen. (That post is coming later, it was quite the undertaking.)
The Installation:
It was virtually quick and painless. We attached it to the gas line, did a few quick tweaks leveling it because our floor is crazy and we were done. We chose the slide in because we wanted to be able to change the counters at a later date plus are putting a butcher block style counter extension on the other side. I couldn’t believe how futuristic it looked. I watch too many scifi shows but this stove does so many things I was wondering if it could actually prepare the food itself! It’s been awhile since I had a new stove but I was super impressed how user friendly it is and how gorgeous this stove was! It made my kitchen look shabby in comparison.
The burners:
Right away the first thing I noticed was the giant burner. All I could think of was how fast I was going to be able to make ears of corn, pasta and batches of soup with stove! The installer then pulled out the wok stand and many more meals began to formulate in my head. This stove is MADE for foodies like us. The entire range is designed with even, quick and quality cooking in mind.
Our range has one 5,000 BTU burner, two 9,500 BTU burners, one 15,000 BTU burner and one 22,000 BTU True Dual burner
The Flex Duo Oven (With Duel Door):
This oven includes two independent temperature controls and convection systems, separated by a removable Smart Divider, so you can cook multiple dishes simultaneously. Plus, you can access just the top compartment or the full oven with the hinged door. This feature has been fabulous. You can use just the top part of the oven as a warmer or just to toss a frozen pizza in there. Side note: It also has been great because my cat likes to stick her head in the oven at really inopportune times and this makes it easier when I am balancing things like lasagna not to have to also have to keep the cat from jumping in.
Another thing that will be handy during the holidays is the built in probe thermometer. No more constantly opening the oven to check or having to use one of those thermometers that attach on the outside.
Using the 3.4 cu. ft. upper, 2.3 cu. ft. lower ovens with Flex Duo Smart Divider or 5.8 cu. ft. of full oven lets you cook for a large group in less time. You can also use a cool function called Sabbath. Safely maintains a temperature for an extended period of time, Sabbath mode helps you comply with kosher cooking practices.
Honestly I am sure there a few functions I haven’t even discovered yet. IT blows my mind what this range can do! A few other features that are worth mentioning is that it has a child safety lock, the oven has dual convection technology for fast cook times plus super flavorful results, it’s self cleaning and let’s not forget WIFI. The electric ranges also have warming drawers and a safety feature where you can turn the oven on or off, and adjust the time and temperature.
Use your smart phone to adjust the cooking time, temperature or turn the oven off. Receive alert messaging on cooking progress or monitor your cooktop to see if you left a burner on. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to a wireless home network.
Another great safety feature is the blue illuminated LED knobs They visually lets you know if your cooktop is on. Distinctive blue light can be seen from a distance.
My favorite feature is the long, oval burner in the middle of the range. You can use it as a grill, a skillet or for an oversize pot. Pretty much all the burners are my favorite because they are made to accommodate all sizes of cookware. My husband loves that he can cook at two different temperatures at once in the oven. With three kids we cook a lot so it is going to be very handy in the future.
