Day 8
A moment you felt most satisfied with your life.
This one’s easy. My maternal grandfather was one of my favorite people in my life. That hasn’t changed since he has passed away. He’s the reason I wrote this post last year. Most of my favorite childhood memories surround him. So this question is a piece of cake for me.
My grandfather didn’t give compliments easy. If you got ones from him, it was like gold. That being said, I could bat my eyes at him and get my way pretty easy. We were living in RI and my son and daughter were 6 and 3. We had traveled out to IL to visit my family and my son had gone on a shopping trip with my Mom and grandfather. At this time he was already suffering from another bout of cancer and it was really important to me that the kids got to spend time with him, given the distance we lived. They came back and we were sitting at the kitchen table and he said this to me:
“Jen. You have really great kids. I really enjoy spending time with them.”
Enough said.
