Create Your Own Private Oasis That Is A Techie’s Dream!
Since I have heard the phrase She Shed I have been begging my husband for one. I have pinned countless pictures, texted, emailed and generally harassed him. Seriously. I am surprised daily that he still puts up with me.
What is a She Shed you ask? Think Man Cave but for women.
The idea is so simple. I have no idea HOW it has taken this long for someone to think of it! Take an old shed, add some paint, cool tchotchkes, a little customization and transform it into an oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation—a place where women can leave stress and responsibility at the door, if only for a few hours. She sheds are a relatively new idea, so Best Buy decided to make one. Here’s how it went, along with six ways they incorporated tech into the mix.
6 TECH IDEAS FOR THE ULTIMATE RELAXING SHE SHED RETREAT
1. Extend the Wi-Fi for endless entertainment (this would be a must for me!)
2. Set the mood with your phone
3. Turn ugly cables into art
4. Bask in the sun (even when it rains)
5. Grant access without a key (I would love to be able to CHOOSE who has access to my shed)
6. Create a hidden refreshment station (a must for this coffee addict)
I think my favorite tech idea that Best Buy came up with was Bask in the sun (even when it rains).
I work long hours, often inside because of weather (midwest is not outdoor living friendly for most of the year). To be able to cheer up my space with awesome lighting would definitely help my workflow. Right now if it’s gloomy I just feel sleepy and sluggish. This is so genius. I have light sensitivities due to my fibromyalgia and this is my dream come true! I wouldn’t have to stop working to adjust my lighting, it would do it automatically. So perfect.
Just being in the She Shed would help me feel like my work is separate from life and give me my own space! Right now my work has taken over my first floor! I love the idea of being able to control my environment, have my lunch and coffee there with me plus have the safety of choosing who has access to my little oasis.
So feel sorry for my husband, I now have a slew of new ideas! If you have a She Shed or have ideas/wish list let me know in the comments. What would you want in your She Shed?
