If you have been blogging for over 6 months you need this blog tool – a media kit. Even if you don’t have a lot of brands under your belt, it’s important to highlight your strengths and what you bring to the table. You will be surprised what you can accomplish with smaller numbers. Not all companies want huge bloggers, sometimes they just like your writing style or personality. Either way – big or small, a nice, clean media kit is necessary.
- It gives companies a snapshot of your blog and what you are about.
- It helps you keep track of your numbers. Remember to update it monthly, if not weekly.
- It looks professional and organized. It’s a POSITIVE first impression right off the bat.
I have had a few different media kits in the past. Ones that I made myself and others that I have purchased. I can do a pretty decent job on my own but with two jobs, kids and a house to deal with I don’t have as much free time as I used to. I need a template that I can work off of to get the job done! Enter HIPMediaKits. I was given an opportunity to try them out and I liked them so much I signed on to be an affiliate. I liked every single kit that I was given to try out, which is unheard of for me. To use them you do need either Microsoft Office 2007 or up. I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro so I could convert it to a PDF and edit it from there. Pretty easy. I could not get over how clean the kit looked when I was done. Have a look for yourself.
The pdf version I made has clickable links and I added it to my about me page and my advertising page. I am pretty confident brands will have a good first impression now! The template I used for this media kit was the Lax Media Kit Template. They have quite a few colors to choose from in this template. It added versatility to my design.
Whether or not you chose to go with HIP or design your own, I can not stress how important it is to have a media kit in your blog tool arsenal. Show those brands you are a serious, awesome blogger that knows their stuff!
*I was given access to try out the HIPMediaKits. Positive review was not required nor was I compensated.
