Fellowes Air Purifier Review
Air purifiers have been this household’s friend since late-1997 when I realized my 6 month old had seasonal allergies. His allergies have since progressed to full on all-year-long allergies and his siblings have followed suite. I recently had to put him (my 15 year old) on an inhaler, not something I wanted to do, but if it helps him I will do anything at this point!
So here’s the lowdown on my family’s allergies:
Mom: Severe allergy to grass, trees, weeds (pretty much everything outside), hay-fever plus allergy to dust mites & mold. Mild allergy to pet dander. Also has quite a few food allergies.
Dad: Seasonal hay-fever (getting worse by the year)
15 year old: Same as mom but allergy to trees seems to be getting worse by the year.
12 year old: Severe indoor allergies to dust, mold and mildew. Some hay-fever.
5 year old: Severe tree and weed allergy plus mild grass allergy. Also has allergic reaction to dust and mold. Bad lactose and aspartame allergy.

I was recently given the chance to review the AP-300PH Fellowes Air Purifier. We have tried so many air purifiers I was a little skeptical if it really was going to work. Most of them work for the first month, but then you will notice a steady decline in the air quality. We decided to put it in the basement because that’s where my son sleeps and he would be the best judge if the air purifier was working. My son and I set it up, it was really easy and all we had to do was basically unwrap it. It came with the filter and carbon filter, plus instructions. The entire display is digital. It’s really easy to read and understand. It shows you the air quality, and filter life. The one feature that I LOVE is that you can set it to automatic so the air purifier actually changes the settings depending on the air quality. This is a great electricity saver so it’s not running when it doesn’t have to. We leave it on but if we are going to be gone all day I set it on automatic.
Since the box says designed for large size rooms we decided to put it in the basement where the kids have a playroom and my 15 year old has a room. He is the one (besides me) that has the worst allergies.
The air purifier comes ready to go, all we had to do was unwrap the filters and shut the lid.
I really love how large the display on the AP-300PH Air Purifier is and how easy it is to read. The air purifier is REALLY quiet, we can watch tv in the room, no problem. That has not been the case with a lot of the other air purifiers we have owned. I checked online and the replacements for the filters are really reasonable, again, unlike other purifiers we have owned in the past. I like that I only have to replace the filter on the AP-300PH Air Purifier once a year and the carbon filter once every three months.
Some of the awesome features of the AP-300PH Air Purifier are:
- PlasmaTrue™ Technology removes airborne pollutants and gets air cleaner at the molecular level, instantly neutralizing viruses and germs in the air
- True HEPA Filter safely removes 99.97% of particles and impurities as small as 0.3 microns, including mold spores, pollen, dust mites, allergens, cigarette smoke, pet dander and odors
- Air purifier includes an air purity sensor that monitors the air quality and automatically adjusts the fan speed to keep your air cleaner (my favorite part)
