In the past year stress and fibromyalgia has taken a huge toll on my health. The amount of meds I have been taking coupled with pain has slowed me down. A side effect of my meds is weight gain. Which as you can imagine affects my fibro. We recently moved into a more exercise friendly neighborhood. Instead of walking around in circles in a neighborhood, I can cruise around the lake. Much better view. I am in serious need of good walking shoes. I need something that is supportive but not too heavy and will set off charlie horses. As a LONG time customer of Famous footwear when I was given the chance to try out some new kicks I did.
My store near me had absolutely NO Reeboks in the store. 🙁 Sadness. I just happened to be at an outlet school clothes shopping and they had a Famous Footwear so I ran in there in the chance that they would have something. They did. They had ONE women’s pair and it just happened to be the EXACT pair I was looking for. Karma.
I am in LOVE with the color and they fit perfect. They are nice an breezy and will be fantastic for short jaunts down to the promenade. They are not super supportive but I need that type of shoe for days that my feet are in pain.
I am actually really liking these, my 16 year old son even approved. HIGH praise. He usually has no opinion on women’s attire.
These are the first “cool” pair of sneakers I have bought myself in years. After spending all the money on the kids shopping this year it felt nice to splurge on myself.
So…..my next dilemma. What am I going to wear to walk around the lake? I needed a good pair to go shopping in and longer distance walks. I thought back to the comfiest shoes I have ever worn. I can to the conclusion it was my Reebok Classics I wore in high school. I had low and hightop versions. I looked on FamousFootwear.com and lo and behold…they had them! Happiness.
I had a pair of these classics when I was in high school and I wore them until they fell apart. I really wanted another pair but I was nervous they wouldn’t fit the same. They do. I love them and they were exactly what I wanted. They are on the narrow side, buy wide if you have a regular foot. The traction isn’t the best, but it isn’t an issue for what I need them for.

I ordered them, really easy by the way, and used my rewards card. Rewards will come in handy for school shoes. Very quick shipping too, they were here on Tuesday and I ordered them on a Sunday.
I know these shoes are considered “mom shoes” now but I really love them so much I don’t care. Also, I have purple hair so I don’t think people will be looking at my shoes and thinking I am a soccer mom :).
It felt so weird to buy TWO pairs of shoes for myself. I love them and it’s really motivating me to get off my butt and start moving.
