California Wine Club Review and Giveaway
Last month I told you a little about California Wine Club.
California Wine Club has a few different membership options to suit your needs.
California Wine Club start as low as $49.95/month:
Premier Club: $49.95+ (Most popular club!)
Signature Series: $137+ (For collectors and connoisseurs!)
International Selections: $84+ (From small “mom & pop” wineries around the world.)
Aged Cabernet Series: $210+ (Napa’s most prestigious Cabernets aged 8 – 12 years.)
This month we got two very different and distinctive wines that my husband was itching to try.
Daniel Gehrs Wines 2009 Central Coast Merlot
and Daniel Gehrs Wines 2011 Santa Barbara County, White Hills Vineyard Chenin Blanc
A little about each wine:
Daniel Gehrs Wines 2009 Central Coast Merlot
Dustiness, tanned leather and earthiness add complexity to the lush signature black cherry fruit. Tannins are smooth, lending backbone and a long finish. This wine is ready to drink this holiday season and it can also age in the bottle for another three years or longer with proper storage.
Daniel Gehrs Wines 2011 Santa Barbara County, White Hills Vineyard Chenin Blanc
Aromas of plums, wild flowers and clover honey lead to a fruity palate of ripe Barlett pear and melon flavors. The finish is crisp and zesty. Drink now or hold up to 5 years. Impressive Pedigree: The 2010 earned a “Top 10 White Wine” Award from the World Wine Championship Competition.
Our thoughts:
My husband loved the Merlot. It had a light crisp taste of berries and we both felt it could be paired with just about any dish. I loved the deep color of it. The Chenin Blanc was one of the better white wines we had ever had. It was also a very crisp white that tastes like fresh grapes. It was delicious chilled slightly and we paired it with cheese and crackers.
They were honestly wines we would purchase again.
