Holiday Planning Made Easy With Ritz Crackers
If I had to choose a cracker that brings back holiday memories, it would be Ritz. Eating celery with cream cheese, cranberry sauce, and Ritz Crackers with port wine cheese are my biggest holiday food memories. It has transferred over to my adulthood and influenced my own holiday meal planning with my family. Luckily, my palate has expanded since I was young. I eat a little spicier food and meats and drink wine (yay!), and I have found ways to jazz up my go-to snacks.
There are a few things I have learned that will get you through the holiday season—tips and tricks to deal with last-minute invites and guests. You know it will happen!
First off, there are a few staples you need to keep on hand. It will save you money and time so you are not last-minute racing through the grocery store before you need to have a snack or appetizer ready. It’s awesome if you have impromptu houseguests. Just grab it, throw it on a pretty plate or cheese slab, and look like you are the hostess with the mostest.
My holiday staples:
- Ritz Cracker Fresh Stacks
- Olives (not pictured)
- Red grapes
- Green grapes
- Block of Monterey Jack cheese
- Tub of port wine cheese (any brand)
- Wedges of garlic-herb cheese or white cheddar
- Prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella
- Pepperoni or hard salami
- Pumpkin seeds
- Dried cranberries
- Organic fruit-and-seed trail mix
- Pomegranate seeds (or whole pomegranate—scoop it out)
- Wine (both white and red)
If you keep all of these ingredients in your fridge or pantry, it is such a time saver! I also save money because, instead of just grabbing things, I can price out what I need, look for a sale and use coupons. If you grab Ritz Cracker Fresh Stacks you only have to open smaller portions on demand. No more huge sleeves of stale crackers because you only needed a quarter of the package. My biggest challenge is keeping my family from eating it all! It’s all of their favorite foods.
My new favorite holiday snack (and it may become an all-year one too) is an awesome pairing my daughter came up with a couple of weeks ago. She was hungry and raided the fridge. What she came up with was awesome!
Garlic-Herb Cheese Spread, Green Grape and Ritz Crackers Fresh Stacks
- Wedges of garlic-herb soft cheese
- Green grapes, washed and off the vine
- Ritz Crackers
It’s so easy. All you have to do is soften the cheese a bit, chop the grapes in quarters, stack them all together and serve! My husband also adds pomegranate seeds to his (he loves them). I never would have thought that green grapes and garlic-herb cheese would be good, but it is delicious! You’ve got to love my adventurous teen.
So stock up, sit back and enjoy the holiday a little more. Being prepared will make your life easier and your family’s stomachs happy!
