Lessons in Our (Early) 30s is a book highlighting the lifestyle of the single woman in her early thirties with a focus on self-improvement. It includes personal experiences from the authors and compares current behavior and expectations with those of their former twenty-something self. This book covers the major topics present in a woman’s life including beauty, wellness, finance, career, friendship, fashion, romance, and spirituality.
Throughout the book the authors have integrated a social media element through different hashtags. These hashtags allow the reader to directly interact with the authors, as well as other readers, while reading the book; creating a sense of community.
The authors of Lessons in Our 30’s are long-time friends currently “figuring it all out”. They are living through this era and realize that the journey can be confusing and exhilarating, bringing about the urge to share their knowledge in an entertaining and thorough manner.

Lessons In Our (Early) 30s is a how to guide in navigating life after 30. The book reads like a series of blog posts. You are treated to tips and tricks, like the five minute face, to what to expect from your thirty year old body. It’s a light read and if you looking for a few good excercises or antedotes for a newly turned 30 year old women, this book is for you. Each women gives their take on the subject matter, telling their stories in alternating tales. At only approximately 30 pages its a quick read.
Being at the latter end of my thirties, some of these things make me look back and laugh that I ever worried about them, others found me nostalgic at the thought of them. A lot of the lessons are things that apply to all ages though. Like eating healthy or drinking lots of water.
If you have a millennial that needs a few pointers on finally approaching that milestone of adulthood or if you want to know what’s trendy now, this is a great book to pick up. Social media is the new normal and the authors have their pulse on the scene.
About the authors:
Libby and Jillian met in 2008 while working for El Paso Corporation, and began a long term friendship that started with fun and interesting conversations. This morphed into a creative partnership in developing a non-fiction book series for women in their thirties. Their goal is to build a sense of community and create a playful, informative platform where women can take part and grow.
Libby John
Libby John was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station and is a proud Aggie Engineer, with her PMP (Project Management Professional). Jillian Kaiser
Jillian is a native Texan living out her thirty-something life in West Palm Beach, FL. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University and University of Houston where she received her MBA. Her favorite pastimes are eating cheese, traveling, and hanging out at Sephora. Lessons in Our (Early) 30s is her first book and only child.
