I’m not sure about you, but like a lot of people struggling in this economy, inspiration for me seems few and far between. Most days seem to be a struggle…between family, work & financial obligations, life seems a little bogged down right now.
I was given a copy of a book called Love Each Day: Live Each Day So You Would Want to Live it Again by award winning author Gail Bernice Holland. This book consists of 40 True Inspirational Stories that give you real thought provoking lessons about truly enjoying life. Not to be cliché, but I did find a lot of the stories quite inspirational.
I don’t want to give out any spoilers but I will give a couple quick synopses of my favorite of these short stories. The author encourages the subjects of her book to avoid the typical “best day of my life” scenarios and to really stretch their minds to a real inspirational, turning point kind of day.
My favorite story was one about a blind boy (A Day A Blind Teenager Graduated From High School) who was bullied incessantly in school, especially by one particular boy. He went through school thinking no one noticed him, but was surprised by the reaction he received at his graduation. This story alone is worth the purchase price of the book!
I also was blown away by a story called A Day Confronting her Husband about an Affair. This story takes the reader through a couples struggle through an affair and cancer. Miraculously their relationship survives and actually becomes stronger! It’s a truly remarkable story of forgiveness and strength.
One story that hit close to home, mostly because I feel strongly about helping those who are less fortunate than you, was A Day a Student Learns about Poverty. This story follows a young graduate who at the request of his former teacher volunteers at a homeless facility. He becomes quickly educated to the fact that all his preconceived notions about homeless and poverty stricken people were very, very wrong.
The last story I will share with you is a story about a single mother, widowed twice, who finds herself potentially paralyzed after a freak bicycle accident. (A Day Following an Almost Fatal Accident) She experiences just how profoundly she influenced her children with her dedication and strength through out their lives. This story touched my heart as a mother because it shows just how magically bonded mothers and their children are…it also reminds you how people can take you by surprise when you least expect it. It was a fantastic story.

I was given this book for review purposes only. I was also given a book of my choice in compensation for my time. No other compensation was given. All opinions, AS ALWAYS, are my own. I received this review as part of a Business2Blogger campaign.
