If you are like me and have teenagers most likely you are in the know about apps. There is pretty much an app for anything now and not just solely on Apple products. Xfinity has some pretty awesome apps. My kids use them a lot. My 8 year old uses them a lot to watch tv on her iPod.
Check out my family’s top 3 apps for Xfinity and it’s products:
1. Has to be the Remote hands down. I LOVE that the app works in any room you just need to change what box you are controlling. Searching is such a pain in the neck. I know that sounds lazy but with the multitude of choices on the x1 system between On Demand, regular channels etc it’s a lot to weed through. It’s fantastic to just say the name of the show you are looking for and it brings it all up at once. All the times are displayed, all the channels it’s on and the episodes. It has definitely spoiled me.

Can’t find the remote? No worries. Simply download the XFINITY TV Remote app to use your smartphone or tablet as a remote control. Change channels, browse TV listings and even search through On Demand.
Out for the day and realize your forgot to set your favorite show to record? With the TV Remote app, you can schedule your DVR from anywhere. Never miss an episode again! **my favorite feature**
NOTE: There is a special version of this for the X1 system called the XFINITY TV X1 Remote. It allows you to use voice commands to search, schedule recordings and even get personalized recommendations!
2. Tv Go app is the second most used app in my house. My daughter can download her shows and have them in the car on her iPod. It keeps her busy while we are doing errands. I am really impressed with their selection of older movies that I have had fun introducing her to.

3. The third favorite in our house is the Xfinity WiFi app. As you can see in the screenshot we have a huge coverage area. Sometimes the signal is so strong my phone actually switches over to the Xfinity Wifi instead of my router in the house! It’s fantastic though because my oldest daughter is on a prepaid network and data eats up a lot of her minutes so being able to use the Xfinity Wifi and save me money! I personally love it because I cover a lot of events and they don’t always have wifi where I am at so I can scan for an Xfinity signal or look up where one is and grab it. It makes it much easier to post to Instagram or Facebook in real time like companies and brands like you to do.

I think the Xfinity apps are one of the best features of the new X1 system. There are quite a few of them, it would be nice to have the tv ones be combined but it would most likely be too large of an app for phones to handle. It’s also pretty cool to be able to select only the apps I need.
