I wish I could say I was more organized. It’s something I strive to be. I have all the excuses lined up.
- I have 3 kids.
- I work full time at home.
- I am tired.
- I have 2 cats.
- I am tired of adulting.
So on and so on. It’s sad really. For someone who has a slight obsession with office products and stationery you would think I would be better about it. Then the Dymo LabelManager® 160 and Organizer Xpress™ Embosser was brought into my life. I am not saying I am organized completely but these nifty little devices have helped and it has made the kids more interested in helping keep the house in better shape. Sometimes they get a little too enthusiastic. See picture below:
Once I got on a roll I couldn’t stop. It felt so good to have everything organized, labeled and in it’s place. Now if I ask the kids or my husband to get stuff from my desk they know exactly where to look and grab the correct item. (Ignore the side cubby, I haven’t sorted through that yet. I need a bigger basket lol.)
The pink is so fun. If you can’t tell, it’s a favorite color. The best part about these labelers are the fun colors. They have quite a few including a clear tape.
Another way we used the labeler to help our family is in the kitchen. Our 8 year old is learning how to put away the dishes in the correct spot. Each kid has a chore related to the dishes. My 18 year old washes, my 15 year old dries and now we have the little one helping to put them away (except for the knives – shudder). It has given her a greater sense of independence and the older kids appreciate the help.
I have already envisioned a thousand other ways to use these. Books, kids school supplies, lunch boxes and snacks. The possibilities are endless. Since the LabelManager® 160 can print horizontal and vertical it’s so versatile. I have a feeling soon my kids are going to be saying “did you really NEED to label that?”
