The journey of making our house a home has been a long one, and Big Lots helped me turn our outdoor space back into a relaxing oasis with wonderful patio furniture and adorable accessories! This post is sponsored by Big Lots! brought to you through ShopShare Network. All opinions, as always, are my own.
My friend Meredith and I decided to head to Big Lots to find some accessories for my deck, and replace some things that were damaged in the winter. Everything I purchased on my trip with Meredith was under $100 total with Big Lots every day low prices! I was amazed.
What I bought were quality items, super cute and functional. Like I said, I am definitely going back.
I love that I can get items I actually like and are gorgeous, without breaking the bank or dipping into summer vacation money!
When we were looking at houses to buy and stumbled on the one we eventually bought, it wasn’t the house that caught my attention, it was the yard and the deck.
I dreamed of having enough room for my gazebo, outdoor furniture and copious amounts of outdoor playthings my kids bring with them.
The house itself isn’t a show stopper. It needs a great amount of work and is an older house. The perks of the house being so old is that my yard is well-established.
It has so many different types of vegetation and critters – it’s like a little sanctuary.
Every year when it warms up, I set myself up a little, what I like to call, relaxation station.
It’s my own little chill spot to get away from the chaos of a house that is being perpetually remodeled or the dishes that still need to be done.
I work out there, read, listen to music; sometimes I just sit and watch the squirrels play on the wires.
It’s really a little oasis in the middle of a busy area. I spend so much time out there.
This is why it’s so important I have functional outdoor furniture, shade (it gets really hot here in IL in July and August) and I need pretty things surrounding me.
On our trip to Big Lots, my friend Meredith and I found TONS of fantastically priced outdoor stuff for my deck. Even a party bucket for graduation time! She and I spent way too much time in the outdoor section.
Seriously, Big Lots is your destination for quality, stylish, affordable outdoor furniture, and accessories.
I found things in their outdoor department that I have been looking for in stores forever.
Big Lots can help you design your own relaxation station just like mine! You can shop online or in-store, like we did, for gorgeous, quality patio furniture and accessories at amazing prices.
They have gorgeous outdoor furniture and accessories, gazebos and fire pits, pretty much everything you need to refresh your outdoor space – even grill gazebos.
My husband has one, and if you don’t have one, get one. They are reasonably priced (especially at Big Lots) and they extend the amount of time you can grill during the year by protecting you from the elements.
Our winter was mild for IL, which means wind, freezing rain and barely any snow, so a lot of my stuff didn’t make it through the winter, like my poor gazebo.
I was heartbroken when my “outdoor office” bit the dust in one of our windstorms.
So did a lot of our planters, and our garden isn’t looking great at all. It definitely needs a refresh.
I cannot function without a garden in the summer, so, despite all the wind and rain, I am determined to get it all back on track.
I fell in serious love with this gazebo I found at Big Lots, so I have a gazebo fund going currently in order to go back and buy it.
It has the zipper panels that I have been coveting on other gazebos, and the price is a lot more reasonable than I have seen it at other stores.
Like I said before, we also LOVE to garden and grow our own vegetables and herbs. It’s been a struggle because the weather in IL has been really erratic, and I was worried about getting my seedlings going.
I have to keep them outside because I have cats who like to munch on anything green.
We found this adorable greenhouse that is portable and some seed starters that fit perfectly on my deck.
I get to look at my gorgeous plants and benefit from the oxygen that they put out while I work.
I also grabbed some solar and battery operated lights to add a little ambiance at night. My husband and I like to sit out on the deck after he comes home from work.
The mason jar tea light holders are my favorite of the items I bought. They combine my love of mason jars and my love of rustic things! Not to mention……great price.
I also found some dragonfly solar lights that I thought would be perfect to light up the greenhouse at night, and a planter table for the lantern light we picked out.
We cleaned up the mess from the fallen gazebo, moved some of the furniture around and got to planting! The whole family got involved. It was so much fun!
I am so happy with how well it all matched my outdoor furniture I already had.
It all came together so well. The planter stand was super easy to put together and I am in love with the glass top. It matches my patio table perfectly.
The mason lights look amazing on my table. I can’t wait to dig my other mason jar accents out from storage in the garage to set it all up.
I saw a few other mason jar accents at Big Lots too that I think I need to go back and get.
Overall, we are super happy and now super motivated to get a new gazebo, rugs and other accents from Big Lots. They are now going to be my go-to store for outdoor furniture and accents.
The store is amazing, the prices are phenomenal and now that I have this awesome start I am seeing more things I need.
Doesn’t it look amazing at night? We sat out on the deck for over an hour just looking at the lights twinkling.
