Description….

In a blinding flash of light, five nondescript strangers are yanked from this world and thrust into a land of sorcery. Transformed into the characters they were pretending to be; Archmage Reba, Jamison the healer, Jerik the dwarf, Charles the prince charming, and Allinon the druid elf blend twentieth century technology with the supernatural powers of this new world. This band of wannabe heroes soon discovers that having the powers you have always dreamed of, does not make life a dream come true. The Crusaders of the Light struggle to form a cohesive band as they fight to liberate the kingdom of Cuthburan from the evil horde threatening humanity. Battle is also waged within Reba, an ordinary housewife who has become the most powerful mage on the planet, as she struggles to remain true to her wedding vows. Drawn against her will to the arms of Prince Alexandros, Reba must choose between the prophesied marriage to a handsome prince in a magical world or returning to the husband she left behind.

My Review….

At first I was a little overwhelmed at the size of the book. I am a mom of 3 and I don’t have a lot of spare time. Once I started reading it I found it moved a lot quicker than I anticipated. I read it in a few sittings (I was sick and it was great way to pass the time) and I found it really easy to pick back up and not have to scan back a few pages to remind me where I was in the book. The characters started out plain, ordinary, run of the mill, working class people. They all came from different walks of life. They all find themselves thrown into the world they were paying money to make-believe they were part of! Can you imagine if the World of Warcraft people all the sudden were transported to the actual magical land they had spent so much time getting lost in…crazy. It has quite a few things that would interest readers from any genre….romance, action, sci-fi, Tolkien lovers and role playing aficionados.

I have pictured the characters in Prophecy of the Flame for so long… I often watch movies and ask myself – does this star have a part in my cast?

Both Amanda Seyfried and Amanda Bynes have what it takes to be the buxom, beauty Andrayia – mistress of Prince Alexandros, heir to the Throne of Cuthburan. Andrayia is a feisty blond that will fight for her man – her life, and the life of her son may depend on her strength, as a woman and as a warrior.
