As a blogger internet is necessary, if not essential, to do my job. Besides this website and my book website, I also run a book promotions company so if my internet is down I am stuck either using my phone or going across the street the library. Neither are a great options. Admittedly Comcast internet and myself have not been friends in the past. When we were living at my parents house it felt like it was down more than it was up. Even as recent as last winter every time it was cold it went down. In October we had the wires replaced and a new modem installed. Since then we have had -27 degree days and the internet was going strong. They only time it went out was when the entire Xfinity system was down. It has been fantastic for my work and my kids have enjoyed being able to stream the Roku and run the Xbox while I am working and not having me yell at them to get off because they were slowing the internet down.
Since we have upgraded to the new modem a lot of our devices have been running better too. It has two different gateway connections so our older devices can connect on a different megaherz than our newer. We no longer have a problem with any of our devices getting kicked off the internet or running super slow. The best part about our fast, new modem is that our printer works!! We have had such a problem with printers connecting to our older, slower modem because the technology on the new printers are so much more advanced than our old modem could handle. This in itself has made our lives easier! My kids don’t have a lot of time to get homework done or things printed for projects and not have to take 15 minutes hassling with the printer is time saving! If you haven’t updated or upgraded your modem in a while I HIGHLY recommend it. Xfinity’s new modems are fantastic. Honestly. We barely have glitches at all anymore. Don’t get me started at how fast things stream now. It’s crazy fast. Being a person who grew up with a dial up modem, I am amazed.
