Unleash The Clean! It’s Spring Cleaning Time.
Even though it hasn’t been as harsh of a winter this year in IL, it sure seems like it has been a long one! I am itching to throw open the windows, air out the house and get some deep cleaning done that seems so fruitless in the winter. With the spring cleaning season fast approaching, planning ahead is key in our house to make tackling a deep-clean of the whole house just a little bit easier with 3 kids.
My husband has been working long hours and I have sick for quite a few months now with my fibro and whatever germs the kids have been bringing home. Another reason I want to get cleaning…germs. Yuck. I have been in zombie mode and getting things organized and clean always brings up my spirits.
I made the mistake of opening our pantry closet in the dining room. My kids aren’t the best organizers or the best at adding supplies to the shopping list that are dwindling.
Well, I can’t clean if I have no paper towels and it’s a problem if a family of five only has 2 rolls of toilet paper. Holy cow they made a mess in there while I have been out of commission. So off to Walmart. We went to pick up some cleaning supplies, go-to necessities to make our home spic & span and to restock our bathroom and pantry. We get Cottonelle® Toilet Paper Double Rolls for the boys bathroom because they need a little tougher toilet paper because they are…well boys (it has the CleanRipple Texture). The Scott 1000 toilet paper is for the girls upstairs – my nine year old has a tendency to use a lot of tp. The Scott 1000® toilet paper is easier on the toilet, lasts longer, has awesome quality, performance, long-lasting value and I just like it. I have used it since I was little.
We want to clean up and organize our pot cabinet too. It’s getting banged up and the pots aren’t being put back correctly so until I can paint the cabinets I wanted to make it at least look and feel nicer.
On to one of my problem cabinets. We bought this house from the bank so there are quite a few things about it that are annoying. We are going to start renovations soon on the kitchen but the pot cabinet has been bugging me. I decided it just needed a little spring cleaning and organization until I can tackle it head on in a few weeks.
Ugh. Seriously. It needs a lot of cleaning and for the pots to each have their own spot.
Viva® Vantage® has a scrubby texture, like a terrycloth. Great for getting stainless steel appliances and scrubbing stovetops. We have used it on patio furniture and other grimy surfaces (like toothpaste on the bathroom counters – yuck). I really like them a lot. It’s like using a cloth and they last a long time.
It’s not perfect but it will do.
I feel so much better and it has given me motivation to keep doing a couple projects for the next few weekends. So go ahead, give your home the proper post-winter refresh it deserves by stocking up on Viva®, Cottonelle® and Scott® products, available at Walmart, a one-stop shop for all your cleaning and organization essentials.
We used this list as the basis of our shopping trip. It was really helpful along with the tips in the infographic.
