The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today
My daughter has a little secret. Even at 9 years old she still LOVES princesses. It’s her guilty little pleasure. She also loves to sing and any type of movie that has music you can sing-along.
I think it’s adorable and I love that she is still holding on to that little bit of innocence of her early childhood. Kids in her generation are growing up WAY too fast. We were given a copy of The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today to preview before it was released on September 6th.
Liv was excited because it gave her an excuse to pop some popcorn, grab her favorite blanket and stuffed animal Kitty, then snuggle in to watch the movie.

As usual, even the cats joined us. It was a dreary day so I think we were all just in the mood to snuggle in and watch a cute movie.
The movie totally lived up to our expectations and even a 39 year old like me found it cute. Liv and I loved the silly characters, the action plus the camaraderie between the princess and the little pirate boy Lucas. (I was actually jealous of Lucas, I have been wanting to take a bit of an island vacation on a deserted island) It has great little life lessons thrown in and a whole lot of teamwork!!
From the parents perspective, I loved how crisp the graphics were! It’s unbelievable to me just how far kids movies have come since my one dimensional days in the 80s. These kids don’t know how good they have it! The leaves alone looked so real!
At one point, Li was engrossed in the movie she didn’t even notice me taking her pictures. That’s saying alot since she’s my little diva who does NOT miss an opportunity to strike a pose.
If you are looking for a completely adorable princess and pirate movie to put into your child’s dvd rotation, I totally recommend this The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today. Boys and girls alike will love it. Plenty of action for everyone!
Snuggle in, grab your crown and your pirate’s patch, pop some popcorn, find a a favorite blanket and enjoy!
