technology debate: iPhone vs Droid
iPhone vs Droid
After my Droid starting wearing out, and it went down the hill quickly…as in NOT functioning or making calls, I really set my mind on an iPhone. I had considered getting another Droid but every one I looked at felt like this…..

A Droid just didn’t have enough “creative” options I wanted. I was looking for a great photoediting app-Instagram (at the time it wasn’t available on Android, which it is now but still doesn’t have all the iPhone Instagram options). I was looking for a phone that would auto focus well for these shaky fibro-ridden hands, plus I really wanted FaceTime to connect with my kids. After owning both I have some pros and cons of each. I wish they could make a phone that would do it all but I’ll just keep dreaming the dream.
Pros of Droid:
- Flashy Alert Light- this is a major pro for me because I didn’t realize how much I used it until I no longer had it. I like be able to SEE when I have a notification.
- Screen widgets- another case of I didn’t realize how much I relied on it….apparently the little sticky notes widgets were keep me more organized than I thought….
- Cheaper apps and easier to delete.
- A LOT more tablets and devices run on Android, so there is more compatibility. (I solved that problem and bought a Kindle Fire so I could use my old apps.)
- Google Compatible. I miss my GPS Google Nav.
- Larger screens.
- Cheap accessories.
Cons of the Droid
- It has a shelf date. Wears out quickly and becomes obsolete way to early.
- (From my husband) Inconsistent application usage for all versions of the operating system.
- We have had problems with texting applications just plain old not work on the droids.
Pros of the iPhone
- Every one has one. LOL It can talk to ALL your Apple products.
- iMessaging. I just recently learned from my sons friend that this only uses data. Sweet. No charge.
- iCloud. Even though amazon’s is great….I like that I can chooses options of what I back up
- Smoother operating system. It moves really quick. Like lightning fast.
- The camera is phenomenal.
- Siri
- Update-able for life.
Cons of the iPhone
- No blinky lights or sticky note widgets
- NOT Google compatible.
- Accessories are expensive.
There you have it. What’s your opinion? {be nice!}
