Raging Waves Cools You Down
Raging Waves – The waterpark you need to visit ASAP
It was a hot steamy day in July and we decided to brave the masses and head down to Yorkville to visit raging Waves. Although there were a ton of people we had a blast. It definitely cooled us down and was the perfect choice for our adventure that day.
I have some tips for you on how to make sure your trip is fun and successful.
*Get there as early as possible. The seats and shade fill up quick. If you have the money to splurge, grab a cabana. You get awesome treats and plenty of shade. (it’s best to get it 2 days in advance)
*Grab the Costco deal if you can. You can’t beat 2 tickets and 2 tubes for $39.99. Trust me you want those tubes! They get snatched up quick and it’s first come, first serve.
*Try and hit the big slides first. They have the longest lines and the line gets long fast.
*Bring cash for the concessions. When you get hungry, and you will get hungry, you won’t want to wait for you awesome Bucket ‘O Fries or funnel cake. Raging Waves has awesome food. My kids love that they have Bosco Sticks.
*Make sure you have LOTS of waterproof sunscreen for the day. The sun is strong and intense in IL. You will get burned. Between the wave pool and the slides, your sunscreen will get washed off faster than at a regular pool.
*Lock up your valuables in a locker. Raging Waves has these nifty lockers with a wristband so you can open and shut them all day long. All you have to do is swipe your wrist and your locker opens! No need to worry about leaving phones and tablets out. You can go play and not have to think about it.
*Make sure your rash guard is tight if you want to use the body slides. My son didn’t and he regretted it!
*Bring water shoes for the little ones. The concrete can be rough on their feet. make sure they fit well so they don’t fall off in the wave pool or on the stairs.
*Last but not least……have fun. Raging Waves is an awesome, clean, safe, family friendly place for you to relax and have fun. Forget about deadlines and sports practices. Enjoy what we have left of the summer. Don’t forget to grab yourself a refillable cup so you can get $.99 refills. It makes it all the sweeter. (Plus they have Pepsi, which is a bonus for me.)
Tickets are required for all guests. General admission day tickets for guests over 48 inches are $29.99. Older guests and smaller children have discounted admission. Group packages and cabana rentals are available. Season passes are also available. They have TONS of events, activities and live shows over the summer so make sure you subscribe to their newsletter. There are always a way to save too, I love that they are constantly making it easy for patrons to get tickets. Check out the Costco savings!
