The days of missing your shows are over.
The DVR has been my lifesaver since I have had children and I never in a 1000 years thought there would be any way to improve upon the service. My time is limited and so is my daughter’s because she helps me with my younger daughter when I work plus she helps out with my friends business watching dogs. We tend to miss our shows a lot. We rely on our DVR and now iPads to keep us up to date. For most of us, life doesn’t revolve around a TV schedule. We’re constantly on the go, be it for work or pleasure and it’s only a matter of time before you’re four weeks behind on your favorite show.
Recently I went to Florida to a book conference for my other job and I brought my 15 year old daughter with me. We had a connecting flight for our trip and would have a lot of down time on the plane. I figured since I read a lot and she never gets to watch tv we should download our shows and watch them on the plane! I made sure she had the XFINITY TV App for X1 on her iPad and we downloaded our shows at home in prep for our flight. Once we got on the plane and settled in both of us popped in our headphones and sat back to enjoy our shows. It was the most relaxing plane ride(s) I have ever had. It was so cool to be able to be on the plane (for over 4 hours back and forth) and catch up on all the shows I had missed because of work and summer activities. I wish I would’ve thought to take a picture of her chillin’ in the seat next to me content. A far cry from the days where I had to spend the hours entertaining her and failing miserably. 😉
Have a little down time and want to catch up on your shows but don’t want to watch Jon Stewart with the husband? Send him off with your iPad while you catch up on the living room tv. Get the full TV experience on any screen in your home. Watching two shows at once – the kids can have control over the TV, while you enjoy Teen Wolf (guilty pleasure of mine) on your tablet!
Even if we are at home, how many times have you been outvoted by your kids or husband on what you’re going to watch that night? It’s safe to say Fear the Walking Dead might lose to Sunday Night Football quite a few times in most houses. (Not mine, Walking Dead reigns supreme but there might be a fight if hockey is on.) XFINITY is working to make missing your shows and fighting over the remote a thing of the past.
Turn any device into a TV in your home with the ability to live stream tons of channels and On Demand options. This includes the whole X1 experience, right on any device: channel guide, On Demand, DVR, etc. I think this may be my most favorite thing about the Xfinity Cloud DVR. I have two examples of how it’s totally awesome.
- We were at my cousin’s wedding and my whole family are Blackhawks fans. The Blackhawks just happened to be playing for the Stanley Cup the day of her wedding and reception. All the men were grumbling and groaning that they could watch the game. Some even were leaving to go watch it in the attached bar. My husband whipped out his phone and used his XFINITY TV App for X1 to stream the game right at our table. It was hilarious to see all the guys huddled around his phone. We got to enjoy the wedding and keep tabs on the game at the same time. Bonus.
- I have set up a little outdoor work space on our deck. It’s a small cabana with lounge chairs and it’s perfect for working outside or just chilling, listening to the cicadas with the kids. We were sitting out there the other night and my daughter thought since it was dark outside we should watch her favorite show My Haunted House for the spook effect. I grabbed my iPad, streamed the show, snuggled up with my daughter on the chair and watched the show with her under the stars. It was awesome. She’s only going to be little for so long and I grab them whenever, wherever I can.
