I have a confession. I am a hoarder…..of knowledge. Online Courses with unlimited streaming are my new favorite thing. As a child, if a subject interested me, I would try to obtain as much information on that subject as I could. I don’t just like to know something, I like to be as informed as I can possibly be about the subject. I have passed this along to my son as he has grown up. What I have been learning.

Currently, I am taking the National Geographic Fundamentals of Photography course. It is amazing. I am not an inept photographer but I do have a ton to learn. RAW and shutter speeds really trip me up. Who better to learn from that some of the most amazing, talented photographers in the world? I want to step up my food photography games and utilize the awesome features on my DSL camera than I have been previously. Summer is coming and I can’t wait to try out the fantastic things I am learning on fresh fruit and vegetables. I am learning so much about the importance of lighting, how to make color pop plus how important research and preparation are to a photo shoot. I haven’t made it through the entire course yet but I am excited to learn more about Macro photography and low light.
