The most romantic night of the year is upon us. Do you like to spice things up with a little liquid encouragement? Why not try something new this year when you check out these Valentine’s Day cocktails.
Champagne Valentine’s Day Cocktails
Champagne is the ultimate romantic adult beverage to celebrate the love of your life. Instead of going with traditional champagne, dress it up a bit.
Rose Valentine’s Day Cocktail – Take Rose wine, grapefruit juice, and champagne as the base for this romantic cocktail from Crate and Barrel. Make it super fancy with edible flowers floating on top.
Strawberry Bellini – The Bellini is the close sibling to the mimosa. You can never go wrong with these fruity beverages for sipping. Dell Cove Spices tells you how to quickly make your own strawberry syrup to flavor the champagne. Rim the glass with strawberry sugar and you are all set!
Strawberries and Champagne Margarita – Strawberries are also considered to be just about as romantic as champagne. Pizzazzerie adds both to a basic margarita recipe for an extra kick.
Vodka-Based Valentine’s Day Cocktails
Vodka is the base for many classic drinks. These cocktails use vodka and then dress them up for Valentine’s Day with a couple of tasty twists.
Love Martini – The martini is a classic cocktail. Show how much you love each other with this Valentine’s Day version from Picture the Recipe. It’s a tasty mix of Malibu rum, peach schnapps, and vodka with cranberry juice to cut the sweetness. Get festive when you top it off with strawberry slices cut into hearts.
Valentine’s Day Cherry Vodka Cocktail and Shooter – Are you looking to sip or to shoot? You need cherry vodka, amaretto, and grenadine to make this shot. Growing Up Gabel recommends adding Cherry 7Up if you prefer to make this into a sippable cocktail.
Red Velvet Cake Martini – When you think of Valentine’s Day desserts, you may think of red velvet cake. 3 Yummy Tummies actually uses a bit of red velvet cake mix in a mix of whipped cream vodka, creme de cocoa and milk. She even suggests doing a cream cheese icing rim, if desired. A great way to indulge in sweets and cocktails!
Godiva Chocolate Martini – What Valentine’s Day doesn’t include chocolate? This martini found on The Bar uses Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur with vodka for a chocolatey delight.
Other Valentine’s Day Cocktails
These favorite beverages have a berry twist in honor of Valentine’s Day.
Adult Raspberry Cream Soda – Remember the joys of cream soda when you were a kid? The Cookie Rookie has an adult version that uses Chambord as its base.
Strawberry Moscow Mules – Moscow Mules are another classic and trendy cocktail that I love. Blackberry Babe gives it a Valentine’s Day twist by adding a strawberry soda to the ginger beer and vodka base. And of course you can garnish it with strawberries that you have cut out to look like hearts. If you want to try some other Moscow Mules that follow a red cocktail theme, she also has a Cranberry Moscow Mule that uses a sweet cranberry juice cocktail and a Cherry Limeade Moscow Mule with maraschino cherry juice.
Strawberry and Thyme Slushie Cocktails – It’s almost a healthier version of a cocktail, because you blend the strawberries right with the ice in this slush, instead of a strawberry syrup for the flavor. Giraffes Can Bake likes to add a bit of thyme for aromatic delight and white rum to turn it into a cocktail.
So there you go, a dozen new Valentine’s Day cocktails to try for this holiday, or any other time of year. Want some more? Check out the collection at Candrel’s Crafts, Cooks, and Characters. Which one is first on your list?
