Week one of trying new X Out from the makers of Proactiv
Unfortunately for my son, he inherited my skin (plus a little of his dad’s). It’s kinda of a lethal combo for a 14 year old boy. It’s very sensitive with a tendency to get huge black heads.
I really feel that it doesn’t affect him confidence wise, since vanity has never been an issue for him, but it is annoying and he is aware that the older he gets the more he is going to be self conscious of it.
I have really sensitive skin plus between my PCOS and autoimmune issues my skin was really bad. Here’s a picture of me before I got control and a current picture…you can see a difference!
I have to put a medication on my face and I take a pill to help control my hormones to create that difference! I was at a loss at what to do for my son. I made an appointment for him at my dermatologist, who has helped me a lot, but I canceled it because #1 I knew they were going to put him on costly medication and #2 I really wanted to try a cheaper more accessible product that he would be comfortable with. When I received the opportunity to try the new product line for teens by the makers of Proactiv called X OUT I jumped at it!!!!!! I am really hoping this is the answer to our prayers!
Currently T is using Aveeno cleansing pads and St. Ives scrub when he takes a shower. The problem is over the past three months he’s had oral surgery twice so his skin routine got REALLY messed up. He really needs something that can save his skin and keep scars and other issues from developing.
In the mail we received this awesome package:
Can’t really ignore those instructions huh?
In the box was the Face Wash, instructional poster and a BONUS cleanser body bar that will be awesome for the shower. A really cute feature that is included is a QR code that teens can scan and direct them to an interesting 2 minute video of something silly to watch. 2 minutes is the recommended time that the product should sit on their face. A great distraction.
One of the reasons I wanted T to try this is because the product is all-in-one plus it can be used in different ways. He will be able to use the X OUT as a complete cleanser and treatment together, a spot treatment and a mask. (It would have been helpful when he wasn’t able to bend after his surgery. I could’ve put it on for him and washed it off!)
He agreed to a “before” picture.
This treatment we are doing is a 4 week treatment so I will be posting each week with progress pictures of T’s skin. He’s pretty excited because a 2 minute treatment he can slap on his face while he’s brushing his teeth sounds great to him and I think he just really wants to find something that works and is easy to use.
So wish him luck and I will be checking in next week with his progress!

I wrote this review while participating in a test drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of X Out and received a X Out product sample to facilitate my review, one to giveaway, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
